Dana White releases footage of Conor McGregor and Paulie Malignaggi sparring

Looks like Conor done him.

Paulie Malignaggi was brought in by Conor McGregor and his team in order to help the Irishman prepare for his mega-fight against Floyd Mayweather but ended up quitting prematurely.

Malignaggi, a former two division world champion boxer, was furious when photos were released that showed him in an unfavourable light when he sparred with McGregor in the gym, photos which he believed presented an inaccurate portrayal of events.

“I wanted to be part of this event, but I didn’t want to become the story and that’s what this has turned into,” Malignaggi told ESPN, per Sky Sport

“I won’t release any information about his game plan or what he’s working on, I wouldn’t do that. But this has become a fiasco.

“It’s a circus. And I do want that sparring video released. I understand it can’t come out now, but Conor, if you have any balls, release what really happened.

“There was a pushdown. Conor on the inside, he can get a little rough. He shoved me down, you know, but no knockdowns.”

Malignaggi went on to say McGregor “whimpers like a girl” when he gets hit, evidence that their relationship had turned sour.

But now UFC president Dana White has released actually footage of the pair sparring – and it doesn’t present Malignaggi in a great light.

The 36-year-old’s asserted that he was pushed down instead of being knocked down but the videos suggest otherwise.

Check them both out below:

After Malignaggi went public about his sparring session, McGregor responded by saying: “he took a lot of head trauma.”

“He was looking for an exit,” McGregor said, per MMAJunkie. “The spars were not good for him. He took a lot of head trauma.

“Straight after it we were worried. The sparring partners were actually telling us when he was dropped back at the home that he was stumbling out of the car after the 12-rounder.

“He was flattened against the ropes; multiple times the ropes kept him on his feet. We were worried about him.

“We thought the worst was about to happen. He was certainly badly concussed. And then he just got out of there and went running.”

After McGregor takes on Mayweather, don’t be surprised to see McGregor vs Malignaggi.
